Each year our team of professional managers and publishing experts reviews submitted manuscripts. Among these works we always choose only the best, offering them our knowledgeable help in getting their piece of work recognized and acknowledged by the general public! And after your manuscript has successfully passed through our initial reviews, the next stage is, of course, the publishing! Both e-Book, soft and hard cover publishing are in our wheelhouse.
Finding mistakes on your manuscript’s pages, browsing the text for re-formatting or alterations and finding a constant balance between a storytelling and readability… This is the everyday routine that our editors are well used to and which they just love to do! With our help your text will become shiny and glossy in no time! Each year our team of professional managers and publishing experts solicits through thousands of manuscripts.
Development editing is a crucial early stage in the book editing process. It focuses on the big picture of your manuscript rather than line-by-line corrections. Think of it as the foundation upon which a successful book is built.
What good is a great manuscript if it’s hard to read?
Our designers have years of experience in the book-publishing industry. Whether your book is mostly text or is a coffee-table book with plenty of graphics and photos, our experts will make your book look beautiful and easy to read.
It depends on the focus of your book. Is it all about the story? Then you might choose a simpler design. Your book can still have a catchy design, and you’ll have the option of adding graphics and/or photographs.
But if “a picture is worth a thousand words,” maybe your book should be a coffee-table book with the focus on the images. That’s a different design skill. Our designers have plenty of experience in both design styles.
We’ll help you figure out the best way to present your story.
Once your book is designed, our professional proofreaders will give it one more check to make sure there are no mistakes and make sure that the design hasn’t created any other glitches.
*Storyteller Publishing requires that all the books we publish go through this rigorous proofreading process.
Should you print multiple copies of your book or make it available via POD. (print on demand)?
That depends on how you plan to market and sell it. We’ll help you decide which is the better option for you—or maybe even a combination of the two—and then get your book ready for whatever option you choose.
The advantages of printing your book in large quantities are the cost per book and always having quantities on hand. But are you ready to have your garage look like a warehouse?
We’ll help you find the correct balance, based on your sales goals and methods.
Does your book have a national appeal, or is it a regional title with a specific, local market?
We can help you reach those markets, and even expand what you think is the biggest reach your book can have. Use our experts to get your book into the hands of people who want to read it.
If it’s mostly a local reach, we can help you with press releases and media contacts to get the word out where your book will have the biggest impact. We can coach you on how to take advantage of the natural exposure of a new release to generate sales.
If your book has a national reach, you can use our experts, who will see that your manuscript is shared with the decision-makers at libraries, bookstores and other retailers. We’ll help you get reviews in appropriate publications and appearances with the national media.
How do you plan to sell your book? Do you already have a website? Do you want to carry boxes of books in your trunk*?
You should take advantage of bookstores and online retailers like Amazon. We’ve sold tens of thousands of copies of our own books, and we’ll help you take advantage of all the options.
While you’ll make more money when you sell your own books directly, you should also take advantage of expanded audiences, through bookstores and online services, that you otherwise wouldn’t reach. The person walking through the bookstore might see your book on a shelf or table and buy it, when they’d never visit your website. Amazon buyers are constantly looking for new releases, and they’ll find your book through those websites when they don’t even know about your book.
Storyteller Publishing’s website is where we promote and sell all the books we publish. We’ll pass along the profits to you as a royalty; we provide the service and help to make your story known. If you already have a website, or want us to help you create one, you can link it to our shopping cart.
* We always suggest having a couple of boxes of books with you. You never know when you’ll run into someone who wants a copy. If you have copies with you, that’s a quick and easy sale.
