DAVID SMALE

David is the Creative Director for Storyteller Publishing. He has 37 years of experience in the publishing industry, having authored/co-authored/ghostwritten and published 28 books of his own, while coaching and helping many others publish their books. He’s a prolific writer, with thousands of feature articles to his credit as a sportswriter. 

He most enjoys helping people tell their own stories. Of his 28 books, 16 were done on an “as told to” basis, where he conducted volumes of interviews, paring them down to the most pertinent facts to make their stories flow.

David asks insightful, probing questions and turns those conversations into first-person narratives that encapsulates a story the author wants to create.

Active in his community and church, he sings in the Kansas City Symphony Chorus.
