USS Pueblo: The Mission, The Attack, The Aftermath

October 17 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am

Did America Forget? In 1968, while the world watched a growing war in Vietnam, the North Korean Navy launched a brazen attack on a US Navy ship in international waters. Why don’t we talk about it? Come on out to the Shawnee Rotary Club on October 17th at 7am to hear Steven Woelk, author of “Pig Fat Soup,” and a survivor of the USS Pueblo’s harrowing capture.

Discover the faith of 83 men taken captive, the shocking stories of high seas piracy, the Hawaiian good luck sign, the ultimate sacrifice of an American sailor, and eleven months of unimaginable torture as a prisoner of war.

Steven Woelk was there. Welcomed home as a hero after the crew’s release, he won’t let America forget this episode in US Naval History.

Don’t let this forgotten act of aggression fade from memory. Be there on October 17th to get a preview on his soon to be released book.
